This Week In Kindergarten: August 31--September 4

We are continuing our unit "I Am Special." This week we will be talking about the parts of the body and how to stay healthy. We are also learning the letter Rr and its sound. We will be reviewing the letters Mm and Ss. Please work with the letter and word flashcards in your child's BEE binder to be sure they know them. We have introduced the word "a" and this week will introduce the word "my."
In math, we are finishing up the chapter on Sorting and Classifying and beginning the chapter on numbers 0--5. We are also beginning to talk about patterns. You should be using the number flashcards to practice numbers 0--20.
Please be looking for invitations for the grandparents to our Grandparents' Day party. It will be Friday, Sept. 11, at 10:00 a.m. Our room mother, Mrs. Mangle, will be contacting you about our party food! We would love to have as many grandparents as possible to visit. The invitations will go out by this Friday.
The students are collecting freckles for the "I Like Me" party for good behavior. They have until Sept. 11 to collect 12 freckles to be invited.
PTA News: There will be a planning meeting on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 5:30 p.m in the school library. Yearbooks are on sale now for $10. Look for an order form in your child's binder this week. Don't forget to let your child wear blue jeans on Wednesday and donate $1 to the PTA.
