Our unit that just concluded has been "I Am Special!" We learned all about our emotions and how wonderful our bodies are. We talked about things we like and don't like. The students chose the classroom library and the housekeeping centers as their two favorite in the room. The students made collages about themselves and we posted those in the writing center. We also did artwork with our hands and feet and made flowers to show how we have "bloomed." The students made a paper doll to represent themselves and collected freckles for good behavior. Students collecting 12 freckles during the 2 week unit were invited to the "I Like Me" party.
