This Week in Kindergarten: September 21--25

We will continue our unit on the farm this week, but we will focus on fruits and vegetables particularly apples. September 26 is Johnny Appleseed Day; so, we will be doing many activities with apples this week. Your child needs to bring his/her favorite color apple (red, yellow, green). We will use these for math and cooking activities this week. We will make apple pies and applesauce and maybe some surprise treats! We would also like to make our vegetable soup this week. We are missing some ingredients--carrots and zucchini. If you were assigned these ingredients or you have some in your fridge, please send them to school. Also, we need sugar, pie crusts (2 packages of frozen deep dish), and spoons for our cooking this week. If you can send these items we would appreciate it.
Don't forget to send your permission slip/information sheet for the free vision screening. The screening is September 28 and we need everyone's form turned in. If you need a new one, just let us know.
Thanks for helping your children with homework! I am so pleased with number of children who have done all their homework. They are working so hard in school. Please be sure to use the flashcards to help them learn their letters, numbers and sight words. We will soon begin testing for report cards and we want them to be at their best!
